A Dungeons and Dragons Time Machine Part 1
I am a little emotional and beside myself this morning. I was going through storage and stumbled upon my old stuff. During a time when D&D and the Satanic Panic of the 80’s were in full swing. My mother and grandmother who were both religious actually encouraged me instead of condemning my hobby.
I am going to photograph all of this stuff and post them here. Just a way to show the world how geeky I was and to lay it on the table. I was there, like the kids in “Stranger Things” (2016), I had my friends in Nick and Scott and we reveled in the hobby all through Appleton, Wisconsin. (Note: I lost contact with them for almost 20 years and recently reconnected in the last year)
So part 1 will begin with some badly painted minis. This was at a time when the minis were metal and probably made of unsafe leads. Now, I don’t know how to take a good photo, so I took multiple shots with my Samsung Edge and I did it with and without flash to try and get these. If you have any suggestions on how I can take a better picture, please let me know.
I have about 30 more minis from Warhammer (the mid-80s), Battletech mechs, more D&D as well as books. This is going to take me a while to get them all photographed, but I hope you enjoy seeing these from when I was like 9-12 years old.
